Curtlo bikes are custom built to each rider in Santa Clarita by Doug Curtiss (before he moved to Winthrop, WA) and this one belonged to a mountain bike racer, in Oregon, Sky Boyer, who's signature is on the left chainstay.
Here's a message from Sky about the history of this particular bike: " I was a sponsored racer by Curtlo for many years, mostly as a mountain biker but I did a ton of road training so I had Doug build this bike up for me. I put quite a few miles on it never crashed it. I also was a professional bike mechanic so it was kept in pretty nice shape. I owned Velo Cult Bike Shop in Portland and one day (years after selling it) I saw it in my work stand. I asked the customer what was happening with it and was told they were prepping to sell it. My employees told me that I had to buy it back because my name was on the bottom bracket. I bought it, rode it a few times but ultimately I wasn’t really into road riding at that point and sold it again. That was probably around 2017 or so."
