Our specialty: practical and customized bikes for everyday riding
At Cycle & Coffee, we build, customize, service, and sell human-powered bikes for folks who want to ride a bike to get around and have fun, with style and personal flair. We primarily service and sell practical (oftentimes used/vintage) bikes for casual rides, commuting, touring, trail riding, bike camping and bikepacking, and we do our best to make sure your ride is comfortable, safe, fun, functional and affordable. We're all about finding that sweet spot where practicality, comfort and aesthetics come together.
Read more about our values and strengths as a shop on our recent blog post here.
If that sounds like what you're looking for, your support of us as a small local business means the world to us, and keeps us afloat so we can continue to serve our community!
Local bike shops that might be a better fit for you
If you're looking for something different than what we offer (perhaps more high adrenaline, high speed, or high tech), we recommend checking out some of these other nearby bike shops. For instance:
- Electric & Folding Bikes Northwest (Ballard) - they'll help you with, you guessed it, folding and electric bikes!
- Cascade Bicycle Studio (Fremont) - a great place for fancy, fast road bikes, and bike fitting.
- EVO (Wallingford) - Flagship location of a chain store serving a broad range of outdoorsy, gear-heavy sports. A good spot for sporty, full suspension and electric mountain bikes, and carbon fiber road and gravel bikes.
- Basalt Bike & Ski (Fremont) - A CO based shop for new sporty bikes (similarly to EVO), such as full suspension mountain bikes, and zippy road and gravel bikes. They also offer bike rentals, and trade-ins.
- R&E Cycles (Fremont) - for custom-built frames and tandems.
- Wright Brothers Cycle Works (Fremont)- a longstanding shop specializing in fixed gear and track bikes.
- Mend Bicycles (Wedgewood) - A family-owned neighborhood shop for practical new adult and kids' bikes.
- Dandelion Bikes (Central District) - We hear they specialize in cargo bikes and durable e-bikes!
- Gregg's Cycles and REI also have an abundance of new adult and kids' bikes and service centers as well. They're both organized, well-resourced, and locally owned.
If you like our vibe, but our hours or location aren't quite right for you, or you're just into bike shop tourism and supporting bike shops that ought to stick around, here are some other Seattle shops we love:
- Recycled Cycles (University District) - their used parts bins are organized, abundant, and well-priced. Dreamy!
- Bike Works (Columbia City) - A community-oriented non profit with educational programs, used parts, and a full service bike shop.
- The Bikery (Central District) - A non profit with used bikes and parts, and the option to rent a stand and tools to work on your own bikes.
- Free Range Cycles (Fremont) - an organized, thoughtful, woman-owned full service bike shop that also sells great new bikes for commuting, touring and bikepacking.
- Peloton Cafe (First Hill) - Bikes plus coffee and tasty food, with plenty of vegan and gluten free options ... we love it!
- Good Weather (Capitol Hill) - Another fellow bike shop with a built in coffee shop, and an affinity for aesthetically pleasing bike accessories.
